so this is just a quick update on the goings-on in ecuador. i typed out a long thing on my flashdrive but don't have it with me, so it will have to wait.
we were in the amazon for a week and saw so many cool species. i didn't have much luck seeing stuff but other people saw harpy eagles, tapirs, amazon river dolphins (i saw it surface, but i don't count that). but the monos were amazing as well as the birds and such.
we were staying at a research station that's pretty well known called tiputini biodiversity research station. it's very remote so we had to take a plane, bus, boat, bus, boat, and foot to reach it! craziness.
and for being called a rainforest, it hardly rained while we were there. except the last day, when it rained 90 mm! crazy. other crazy things were silent dance parties and mudsliding. more later.
tomorrow i leave to go to the galapagos for a week! we're doing a homestay on the isla isabela, staying with a rural fishing family for 3 days. and then 3 days on the boat, checking out eagle rays and triggerfish and galap pinguinos. as well as the tortoises...
it's been tough to be back in the city because all i want to do is be out in nature again... typical. but i'm cooking lentil spaghetti for the fam tonight! hopefully all goes well. chao chicos!
